As the Canadian tells the "Corriere del Ticino", he feels comfortable in Lugano and would be open to extending his contract with them.

Signed to a one-year contract at the beginning of the season, Michael Joly has convinced HC Lugano's team manager Hnat Domenichelli of his qualities, who would like to sign him to an extension.

Joly, too, would like to stay in Lugano but at the moment he prefers to focus solely on what happens on the ice: "For contractual matters I let my agent work. A player must always keep all doors open, and make the best choices for his career, but it's clear: I'm comfortable in Lugano and I would be happy to continue my adventure with HC Lugano".

After a slow start to the season with only two points in eight games, Joly adjusted to the new league and put up 18 points (eight goals) in ten games making him the seventh-best point-getter of the league.
