Earlier today, HC Lugano announced the signing of Zach Sanford. Coming over from the AHL, the forward is joining on a one-year deal. The National League will be his first place to play outside North America.

"Zach Sanford brings a wealth of experience to our team", team manager Janick Steinmann notes. "He is a very versatile forward who can play at wing or center, on the power play or penalty kill, where he is very strong. He will bring stability and quality to every aspect of the game and give the coaching staff multiple options for how to use him on different lines."

Sanford most recently suited up for the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Prior to them, he has been part of various organizations across the NHL. His most successful season is probably 2018-19, when he won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues. Overall, the forward has made 359 games in the NHL and 225 in the AHL.
