After three seasons in North America, Rodwin Dionicio has decided to return to Switzerland. He will join EHC Biel as of next season. During his time in Canada, the young defender has suited up for three teams in the OHL and was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks last summer in the fifth round (129th overall).
Thomas Roost, the chief scout of EHC Biel, believes that Dionicio has great potential: "He is an offensive defenseman with a hard shot and he almost always wants to make a difference with his actions, i.e. he takes certain risks with his actions, creating many offensive opportunities. He is tall and strong and, if he manages to further improve his skating, then we will have a lot of fun with him."
The big left-handed defender is currently playing for the Saginaw Spirit and has collected eleven points in 15 games. In three editions of the World Juniors with the U20 squad of the Swiss national team, Dionicio collected five points in 15 games, four of which were in the last edition a few weeks ago.
