Samuel Erni has been with the Tigers for the past nine seasons. The veteran defenseman will thus get the opportunity to play a tenth season in Langnau. This season, he has recorded one goal and seven assists in 41 games.
Harry Pesonen, for his part, will have to leave the Emmental after seven seasons (with a break in the 2020-21 season, when he played in the KHL). He had been hoping to stay in Langnau, but the Tigers are looking for a center as a seventh import player and have thus decided not to issue an offer to their captain.
"It is a huge disappointment for me and my family. I really enjoyed my time in Langnau, both on and off the ice. [...] I had the honor of being captain of the team, which makes this time even more special for me," Harri Pesonen said. "The club treated me and my family exceptionally well from day one. The season is still underway, so I want to focus on that and give my best for the team in the remaining games."
