Tomi Karhunen was already part of SC Bern from November 2019 until spring 2021 and suited up in 64 games for them. Now, he will be back in Bern to support their current goalie duo Philip Wüthrich and Daniel Manzato for the rest of the season.

"We signed Tomi as a safeguard against possible injuries," SCB's team manager Andrew Ebbett states. "He knows the club, some players and will make our goalie team even stronger." Most recently, Karhunen suited up for Brynäs IF in the SHL.

In addition to the signing of Tomi Karhunen, SC Bern also announces that they will count on their goalie duo Wüthrich/Manzato also next season. 39-year-old backup Daniel Manzato has extended his contract for another season, until spring 2024.
