Despite a contract valid until 2026, the defender has apparently been put on the market, the "Berner Zeitung" reports.

Romain Loeffel has been a member of SC Bern since the 2022-23 season and has a contract in place with the Bears until the end of the 2025-26 season but despite that, he might have to leave the club. According to the "Berner Zeitung", the 33-year-old defender has been offered to other clubs in the past weeks. It remains to be seen if Loeffel will change the team or if he will stay with SC Bern.

In 27 games so far with the Bears, Loeffel scored six goals and recorded 15 assists. His 21 points make him the third most-prolific defender in the National League, the first among Swiss defenders. Only Jesse Virtanen and Tim Heed (both HC Ambrì-Piotta) collected more points.
