SC Bern terminates contract with Joël Vermin, signs Kimo Bont to a pro deal

SC Bern and forward Joël Vermin have mutually agreed to terminate his current contract effective at the end of August. Vermin, who has increasingly been used as a defenseman in the past, returned to Bern in 2022 from Geneva. Last season, he recorded twelve points (five goals) in 47 games. 

At the same time, the National League club announced that 20-year-old forward Kimo Bont has been signed to a professional contract. The contract is valid for the upcoming 2026-27 season and includes an option for an additional season. Bont has been playing for the SCB youth team since 2023; before that, he spent two years in the academy of the Finnish club Kärpät Oulu.
