Back in November, "Watson"'s Klaus Zaugg wrote about rumors of the US-American switching National League teams. Half a year later, Lausanne HC has decided to confirm them. Austin Czarnik is joining the Lions on a deal valid until 2027.

A member of SC Bern this past season, 32-year-old Czarnik recorded 20 goals and 38 assists in 51 games, making him the Bears' Topscorer. Prior to his first National League experience, the forward was splitting time between NHL and AHL for various organizations.

"His experience at the highest level, his versatility and his speed of play will have an immediate impact on our offense", team manager John Fust comments on his new import. "He adds real value to our squad thanks to his North American background, his ability to read the game, and his capacity to make the difference in decisive moments."

In Lausanne, Czarnik will be reunited with Dominik Kahun, who left Bern in February. So far, the two are the only non-Finnish imports on the roster for next season.
