Sven Andrighetto would have had a contract in place with Avangard Omsk for this season. The Swiss forward and the KHL team did, however, decide to part ways a week ago. His new deal with the Lions will run through the 2024-25 season.
Blick reported that several teams were interested in the former NHL player, among them Lausanne HC and the ZSC Lions. Andrighetto did decide to go with the latter: "I'm incredibly looking forward to my time with the ZSC Lions and cannot wait for my first game in the National League!"
Andrighetto was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens and played in 216 NHL games for the Habs and the Colorado Avalanche. Last season, he recorded 13 goals and 14 assists in 56 regular-season games for Omsk.
