According to information obtained by "Blick"'s Grégory Beaud, Sven Bärtschi has made the decision to step away from professional hockey. The forward has two years left on his contract with SC Bern.

Contacted by "Blick" regarding the subject matter, the Bears were, however, not willing to issue a statement. Bärtschi, who was drafted by the Calgary Flames, played his entire professional career in North America. He played his first professional game in Switzerland last season. In 36 regular-season games for SCB, he recorded four goals and ten assists.
