The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and Stefan Hedlund part ways

While the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers started well into the new season, they now lost twelve of their 15 last games. This proved to be too much for the board of directors and CEO Markus Bütler.

"This decision was extremely difficult to make as Stefan Hedlund is a very good coach and an even better human. However, the club is at the center and the decision was made in favor of the club," Janick Steinmann, team manager of the Lakers, said.

Steinmann and assistant coaches Lundskog and Gunnarsson will coach the team for the time being and will already do so today. The club is, however, prioritising the search for a new head coach.
