It all came down to Game 7, but the ZSC Lions, who won the regular season and ran through the first two rounds of the playoffs, prevailed.

The first goal of the all-deciding game between the ZSC Lions and Lausanne HC only fell in the last minute of the second period: Jesper Fröden put the Lions ahead. Only 40 seconds later the Lions seemed to have scored again, but the goal was disallowed due to goaltender interference.

Still, the ZSC Lions eventually managed to gain that 2-0 lead, when Juho Lammikko scored in the 47th minute of play. It turned out to be the last goal of the game, as Lausanne HC was not able to find a way to get past Simon Hrubec and thus lost Game 7 and the title to the ZSC Lions
