After his experience with the organization of the Columbus Blue Jackets came to an end last week, Tim Berni decided to return to Switzerland for a fresh start following two years in North America. The 23-year-old, however, will not join his formative club, the ZSC Lions, but rather Genève-Servette HC. Berni will be on the ice for the Grenats already this weekend.
Marc Gautschi, team manager of GSHC, is delighted that Berni chose them: "Tim is undoubtedly one of Switzerland's most talented defenders. Despite his young age, he already has a lot of experience and we are convinced that he will help our organization and our team, both on and off the ice. What's more, we share the same ambitious goals."
After spending the entire 2021-22 season in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters, Tim Berni spent the majority of the past season in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 59 games with them, Berni scored one goal and collected two assists. Prior to leaving for the USA, Berni had spent two seasons in the National League with the ZSC Lions.
