HC Ambrì-Piotta has announced the signing of Swedish defenseman William Worge Kreü. The 26-year-old is expected to fill in for Finnish defenseman Jesse Virtanen while he is sidelined. Virtanen suffered a lower-body injury during the playouts last April and subsequently underwent surgery.

The club did not disclose the duration of Kreü’s contract. According to the club’s press release, he will “be available to HCAP until Jesse Virtanen is fit to play again.”

William Worge Kreü spent a large part of his career to date in Sweden and made the move abroad in 2025. He began last season in Finland with Jukurit (47 games, 10 points) before joining Adler Mannheim for the final stretch of the season. For the DEL club, he played four regular-season games (no points) and 13 playoff games (four points).
