The club has activated the option in the US-American's contract to extend his stay with them.

Signed as injury replacement for Carl Klingberg in November, Justin Abdelkader will finish the season with EV Zug. Initially with the Bulls until the end of the year, the option to extend with him has been utilized.

So far this season, the 35-year-old has made six games in the National League, collecting one assist. In the Champions Hockey League quarterfinal against Mountfield, he scored one of Zug's two goals.

"It is because of goals like that that Justin is such a valuable addition to any team," team manager Reto Kläy states. "He goes where it hurts and brings a lot of experience in addition to his size. I am pleased that we can now count on Justin's services until the end of the season."
