To react to the season-ending injury of Swedish defenseman Anton Lindholm, SC Bern has offered a contract to Lukáš Klok. The 29-year-old last suited up for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the KHL, with which he recently terminated his contract. Klok is expected to make his debut with the Bears already tomorrow evening against Genève-Servette HC.
“With Lukáš, we are gaining an experienced, solid 2-way defender. The National League is not new territory for him, and we are convinced that he will quickly find his feet and help our team, team,” states team manager Patrik Bärtschi about the latest acquisition.
In the past two seasons in the KHL, Klok suited up 88 times for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk scoring three goals and collecting 25 assists. Back in Lugano, he had netted five goals and recorded seven assists in 26 games.
