Both their contracts would have expired at the end of the current season. Patrick Geering is a product of the ZSC Lions' organization and has been with them for his entire career. Last season, he recorded nine goals and twelve assists in 51 regular-season games for them.
As for Kyen Sopa, he joined the ZSC Lions last season, recording four goals and seven assists in 41 games. "We want to retain Kyen as a young talent of the 2000 generation and have faith that he will also take the next steps with us," team manager Sven Leuenberger said.
