The 27-year-old defenseman will thus play in the First League next season.
"Some clubs from the Swiss and MyHockey League have expressed their interest. I couldn't combine the effort of playing semi-professional field hockey with a 100% job," Cédric Maurer states.
EHC Olten announced at the beginning of April that the defender would no longer be part of their team. Last season, Maurer recorded three assists in 14 games for the Mice. He also appeared in nine games for Hockey Huttwil, recording two assists.
