For the remainder of the (still young) season, the forward will be playing with a former employer.

Ian Derungs is back in former colours

The "Thurgauer Zeitung" had speculated about the possibility a few weeks ago, the involved clubs have now made it a reality. EHC Biel's Ian Derungs is returning to HC Thurgau and will spend the rest of the season there. The loan is not financed by the team budget, but by private sources.

During the 2021-22 season, Derungs had his first stint with the Swiss League squad and managed to leave quite the impression. At the side of Jonathan Ang, he recorded 43 goals and 27 assists in 61 games.

"With Ian Derungs, we can strengthen our offensive squad in a target-oriented manner", Thurgau's team manager Patrick Brändli states. "We expect Derungs to develop into a goal-scoring player again, who specifically makes our powerplay more dangerous. He also broadens the squad, allowing HCT to respond to any injury-related absences."
