Despite a contract valid for one more year, Christophe Fellay will not work as team manager of HC Sierre. He will stay with the club though: "Initially, he will keep a 30% activity linked to sport and education" explains Alain Bonnet, president of HC Sierre, to "Le Nouvelliste".
In the future, Fellay might work with youngsters: "He could see himself managing young talent, their careers, and following their development. We still have to find the right place for him in the organization chart” continues Bonnet.
Officially, thus, HC Sierre does not have a team manager. The decisions on the roster are taken in full collegiality by head coach Mario Pouliot and a Sports Committee, in which Chris McSorley is very involved. “He is a member of the Board of Directors, responsible for sport,” states Bonnet. “In his capacity as a manager, alongside us, he cannot be a team manager employed by the club [...] but it's true, he's very involved" concludes the president.
