With EHC Olten, Guillaume Asselin has signed a two-year contract valid until the end of the 2025-26 season. As rumored, the 31-year-old thus leaves the National League after three years with HC Ajoie. In Olten, Asselin will meet again with his former head coach in the Ajoie - Gary Sheehan - and with his former teammate in HC Banska Bystrica, fellow Canadian Éric Faille.
This season, Asselin scored eight goals and recorded seven assists in 26 games with HC Ajoie. During his previous time in the Swiss League, Asselin collected 123 points in 93 games with HC Sierre from 2019 to 2021.
