The 21-year-old goaltender has decided to leave hockey behind after this season and start a new chapter of his life.
EHC Chur
"We are very grateful to Niels for everything he has done for EHC Chur," Björn Gerhard, Head of Sports, said. "He was a very important piece in our quest to be promoted to the National League."
Niel Riesen was under contract with EHC Kloten last season but was loaned to EHC Chur at the end of the season. He was part of the team which was then promoted to the Swiss League. This season, the goaltender appeared in twelve games, posting a .87 save percentage.
