EHC Olten to hand in application for promotion

In a statement to the newspaper, the club had this to say: "The Board of Directors decided to submit an application for promotion after weighing up the various factors. The decision is in line with the club's aim of continuing to play an ambitious role in the Sky Swiss League [...], in the knowledge that the start of the season was not easy in sporting terms and that the club's current focus is also on financial stabilization."

Whether the National League then will accept their application remains to be seen. Swiss League teams who want to be promoted to the National League have to hand in their application until the end of October.
