Daniel Ljunggren is currently out of contention. The team has already found a replacement for him.

As anticipated by the "Thurgauer Zeitung", HC Thurgau adds nother import player to the team. Ljunggren will be out of the lineup for four to six weeks due to a muscle injury in his thigh, thus they decided to add Sebastian Benker.

Benker played for Östersunds IK last season, recording 12 goals and 15 assists in 49 regular-season games.

Mikael Slehofer (HC Fribourg-Gottéron) is currently practising with the team to compensate for the absences of Fabio Hollenstein, Kevin Etter, and Daniel Ljunggren.

There were also rumblings in the offseason that Ian Derungs might return to HC Thurgau. As the newspaper speculates, this seems unlikely now, as the team could not allocate the funds to acquire him.
