HCC adds Teppo Kivelä and Sebastian Wännström, bids farewell to Santo Simmchen

The Finn is familiar with the Swiss League, as he used to coach EHC Winterthur from 2020 to 2023. The 58-year-old last coached in the Alps Hockey League and was relieved from his duties as the head coach of Gherdëina in November. 

As for the player side of things, HCC has acquired Sebastian Wännström. The 34-year-old forward will join the team for the remainder of the season. He, too, is somewhat familiar with Switzerland, as he played for HC Ajoie for half a season. This season, he has appeared in three games for the Malmö Redhawks and in six for IF Björklöven.

Santo Simmchen, on the other hand, will leave HCC. The goaltender and the Swiss League team have mutually agreed to part ways effective immediately. The 20-year-old goaltender appeared in 14 games for HCC, posting a .868 save percentage.
