Luca Cunti to retire, take over GCK's U12

Luca Cunti's active career ends as it started - with the ZSC/GCK Lions. At 36, the forward has decided to make the step off the ice to behind the bench. He will start as coach of GCK's U12 squad.

Making his first strides in men's hockey with EHC Dübendorf during the 2004-05 season, Cunti has since appeared in 665 National League - and 101 Swiss League games (ZSC Lions, SCL Tigers, EHC Kloten, HC Lugano, EHC Biel, GCK). In the latter years of his career, he was often plagued by injury troubles

Cunti's takeover of the Lions' U12 is part of a decently-sized rochade within the youth department. There is also a new head of development - Thomas Scheidegger, previously coach of the U18 Top, is stepping in for the retiring Richi Jost.
