EHC Olten is currently short on players as several of their core players are sidelined due to injuries. While team manager Marc Grieder and head coach Lars Leuenberger are looking at the market, they have yet to find someone, be it a Swiss player or an import player.
As for the Swiss player, Olten was able to bring in Rihards Puide, a Latvian who is in possession of a Swiss player's license. However, Puide has not yet played a single competitive game this season, as he was not able to sign a new contract this past offseason.
Last season, Puide recorded one assist in 17 regular-season games for HC Sierre.
