The 26-year-old defenseman has signed a new deal with the Swiss League team and will suit up for them in the 2025-26 season.

"With Sandis, we are gaining a technically skilled, strong defender who, despite his young age, has already gained a lot of experience at a high level," Björn Gerhard, EHC Chur's Head of Sports, said.
Sandis Smons was under contract with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds for the past two seasons. Last year, the defenseman recorded seven assists in 40 regular-season games.
