For the entire 2026-27 season, Matteo Romanenghi will suit up for EHC Visp in the Swiss League. The last time the 31-year-old forward played in the Swiss League was five years ago on loan to the then HCB Ticino Rockets, the season before joining HC Ajoie from HC Lugano. In Visp, both the team manager, Luca Gianinazzi, and the head coach, Daniele Marghitola, as well as a few players, are from Ticino, like Romanenghi.
Marghitola believes that Romanenghi complements the roster and gives them additional options heading into the upcoming season: “Matteo fits the profile we were looking for to round out our team perfectly: a well-rounded forward who can bring intensity, versatility, and experience to our squad."
This past season, Romanenghi scored one goal and collected seven assists in 47 games. Overall, he has appeared in more than 500 National League games.
