As HC Sierre informs, Giacomo Casserini has decided to retire from active hockey due to health-related reasons. He is joining the staff of the HC Valais-Wallis Academy's U16 squad. Additionally, he is pursuing a specialized course in performance and sports movement.
Casserini started his career as part of HC Ambrì-Pìotta's youth department. During the 2007-08 season, he made his first steps in men's hockey with HC Ascona, and then his debut with the Biancoblù the following year. In 2013, he moved to HC Ajoie, continued onwards to EHC Visp in 2021, and eventually landed in Sierre. Overall, the defenseman has suited up 175 times in the National League and 485 times in the Swiss League.
