For the second season in a row, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds has won the Swiss League championship. Their final win came thanks to goals by Toms Andersons (his eight of the playoffs) and Loïc In-Albon (his first two). The Lions would answer in the 56th minute (thanks to Timotée Schaller), but it was too late, and Chaux-de-Fonds managed to secure their title.
The champion's road through playoffs might have gone a bit differently if their quarterfinal opponent EHC Winterthur had not used a player they were not allowed to in Game 4. Thanks to getting a forfeit win instead of a loss, they managed to close out the series in the next meeting.
The semifinal versus EHC Visp was not as one-sided as the 4-0 series score might indicate, but they managed to pull through. As for the final, the same thing can be said - despite being a 4-1 series, the games were often tight, with two going to overtime.
