Fribourg-Gottéron chosen to participate in the 2024 Spengler Cup?

As known, HC Ambrì-Piotta will not return to the Spengler Cup, and the next Swiss club to participate in the traditional tournament was rumored to be either HC Fribourg-Gottéron or the SCL Tigers. Now it seems like the Dragons were chosen by the organization committee.

Contacted by RadioFr, HCFG's president Hubert Waeber confirms that talks with Marc Gianola, president of the organization committee, are ongoing. However, the contract has not yet been signed. If confirmed, it would be the third Spengler Cup for the Dragons, who already participated in 1992 and 2012.
