According to Klaus Zaugg ("Watson"), Gaudenz Domenig, president of HC Davos, would like to see either HC Fribourg-Gottéron or the SCL Tigers take the Biancoblù's spot.
Marc Gianola, CEO and president of the organizing committee of the Spengler Cup, sees things similar to Domenig, stating that it is important that a club's entire organization is eager to participate in the Spengler Cup and sees it as a major challenge.
Gianola also discloses that the participation of EV Zug, SC Bern, or the ZSC Lions is not in the cards for 2024. It thus remains to be seen, who will have their fans travel to Davos during Christmas week next year.
