The men's and the women's national teams of Switzerland will wear neck guards as of the tournaments next week in Sweden and Switzerland. The SIHF will provide the players with the necessary equipment.

"The health of our players is our top priority. Now that various nations and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) are introducing mandatory neck protection, we want to set a good example," Lars Weibel, Director of Sport at Swiss Ice Hockey, says. "We are already introducing the wearing of neck protection for the next national team games."
