Swiss Hockey

Eleven awards were handed out yesterday in Solothurn at the Swiss Ice Hockey Night. 

Most Popular Player Andres Ambühl

Calvin Thürkauf, HC Lugano, won the “MVP Regular Season National League” category. Denis Malgin, ZSC Lions, took home “MVP Playoffs National League”. Malgin’s teammate Vinzenz Rohrer, who played his first National League season last season, won the “Youngster of the Year” award. Šimon Hrubec, also of the ZSC Lions, won in the “Goaltender of the Year” category. 
 
As for the Women’s League, Estelle Duvin, forward of SC Bern Frauen, was selected for “MVP PostFinance Women’s League”. For the fourth time in her career, Alina Müller won the “Woman of the Year” award.  
 
HC La Chaux-de-Fonds' Toms Andersons was named “MVP Swiss League” and Arnaud Schnegg of HC Franches-Montagnes received the trophy for “MVP MyHockey League”. Beat Forster, who retired from professional hockey, received the “Special Award” in honor of his career. The “Hockey Award” was handed to the men’s national team for their second place at the World Championship this May. Last but not least, Andres Ambühl once again took home the “Most Popular Player” award.
