Akira Schmid was mainly used as the backup goaltender during his stay in the NHL, but he got to play in one game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Adam Hill was pulled from the ice after he gave up four goals in 21 shots.
Schmid thus got a chance to play and kept the goal clean for the rest of the game. The goaltender has appeared in six games for Henderson this season, posting a .885 save percentage.
