As Travis Green, the head coach of the New Jersey Devils, told the media after last night's game, their goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen was not doing great after last night's game. He is dealing with a lower-body injury.
Schmid's recall from the Utica Comets thus seems to make sense. The goaltender has appeared in 20 games for them this season, posting a .891 save percentage.
