Boston calling - Attilio Biasca leaves Fribourg for the Bruins

Just one day before the NHL transfer deadline on June 15, HC Fribourg-Gottéron announced that Attilio Biasca will join the Boston Bruins. Under the agreement with the NHL, HCFG will receive financial compensation. Biasca's current contract with Fribourg-Gottéron, which runs through 2028, will remain valid should he return to Switzerland in the future.

Despite the difficulty to replace Biasca in the roster, team manager Gerd Zenhäusern is happy for him: "We are proud to have been able to support Attilio in his final step before joining the best league in the world. It’s impossible to replace him in his exact position, but our ambitions remain unchanged."

For his part, Biasca is looking forward to this challenge: “I want to thank the fans and the club. I’ve had an exceptional season. The memories of winning the Swiss championship will stay with me forever. I’m also eager to try my luck with Boston. I’m going to do everything I can to rise to this immense challenge.”

This season, his first with HCFG since joining from EV Zug, Biasca scored 15 goals and put up twelve assists in 45 regular-season games and three goals and one assist in 14 playoff games. In addition to winning the National League championship, Biasca participated in his first major tournament with the Swiss men's squad, recording three points in ten games on the way to a silver medal.
