Drafted by the New York Islanders in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the forward has suited up for five different NHL teams throughout his career: the Islanders, the Minnesota Wild, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Nashville Predators and the Winnipeg Jets.
In his 1,000 games, the former EHC Chur prospect has recorded 246 goals and 249 assists. Niederreiter has one year left on his contract with the Jets. This season, he has put up six goals and nine assists in 31 games.
