Théo Rochette joins the Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wins have signed Théo Rochette to a one-year, entry-level contract. Due to the National League's transfer agreement with the NHL, the forward is able to leave Lausanne HC despite his valid contract with the team. Should he return to Switzerland before 2031, he will have to return to Lausanne, though.

The Swiss Canadian dual citizen has never been drafted. He played in the QMJHL from 2018 to 2023 and even captained the Québec Remparts in his last season. They won the championship and the Memorial Cup in that season.

He returned to Lausanne HC after his stint in North America and became a permanent fixture on LHC's roster. Last month, he contributed six points (three goals) in the Swiss national team's run to silver at the World Championship.

He achieved the same feature with LHC in 2024 and 2025. Last season, he recorded 43 points (22 goals) in 46 regular-season games and seven points (one goal) in seven postseason games.
