At the end of his entry-level contract, not having accepted the Blue Jackets' qualifying offer - Tim Berni's future is unclear. "Things are all still undecided", the defenseman's agent, Gaëtan Voisard, tells the "Blick". "We are working on a solution. Tim's priority is still North America."
Berni made 59 games for Columbus last season, his first in the NHL after spending the prior one with their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters.
As "Blick" writes, a trade is apparently needed for the 23-year-old, as he is not getting a real chance with Columbus anymore. If nothing happens on that front, it "would leave us with what we do not really want, because it would be too early - a return to Switzerland", Voisard states. In the National League, there would certainly be a spot for Berni. "There are plenty of inquiries."
