Nico Hischier, the captain of the Devils, is in discussion with the national team regarding participation in the 2024 IIHF World Championship. Nothing is confirmed yet, though. The same applies to defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler.

As for Timo Meier, it remains to be seen whether he will attend the Worlds. He was dealing with a double MCL injury as well as an injury to the obliques during the season. He wants to make sure that his body is able to take the strain of the additional games before making a decision.
