Women's Hockey

According to the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung", the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation would like to submit a bid to host the 2028 IIHF Women's Worlds.

Monika Majer / RvS.Media

The last time the Women's Worlds were played in Switzerland was in 2011. It would thus be a return after 17 years of absence. The Swiss will already host the Men's Worlds in 2026 and have experience in hosting big hockey tournaments.

However, it remains to be seen whether the IIHF will award the tournament to the Swiss in the end. As for the next two tournaments, the host for the 2026 edition has yet to be announced, the 2027 edition is supposed to be played in Canada.
