Both teams are part of the four-team expansion the Professional Women's Hockey League announced last month and thus have not yet been named.
Andrea Brändli is already familiar with North America, as she used to play college hockey. Brändli played in the SDHL for the past three seasons and was also a major part of Switzerland winning bronze at this year's Olympics. She was also named Best Goaltender of the tournament.
Saskia Maurer also used to play college hockey and is thus also familiar with the U.S.. The 24-year-old goaltender is under contract with the SC Bern Frauen. She has been part of the team since 2023.
She was selected as the Best Goaltender in the Women's League for the 2025-26 season by her peers in "swisshockeynews.ch"'s annual poll. She, too, won bronze with the Swiss national team.
