The SIHF introduced the former U18 national team coach Melanie Häfliger as their new Head of Women's Hockey. From here on out, she will be responsible for the implementation and development of the Women's Hockey Strategy 2030. Furthermore, she will be in charge of strengthening as well as professionalising women's and girls' hockey in Switzerland.

Häfliger started her coaching career with SC Reinach Damen in 2016. Since 2017, she has worked in various capacities for the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. She not only worked with the U16 and U18 national teams, but she also served as an assistant coach to the first team from 2018 to 2022 and thus also took part in the Olympic Games.
