HCAP Girls vs HCD Ladies - Women's League to start on September 7

A total of eight teams will face in the upcoming season, which the ZSC Lions Frauen enter as the reigning champions. The first round of games will be distributed over two weeks: After the opening game between the HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls and the HC Davos Ladies on Saturday, September 7, HC Fribourg-Gottéron and SC Langenthal (September 14) and SC Bern, also against SCL (September 15), will kick off their championship campaign a week later. The newly-promoted team EV Zug will play their first game against SCB on September 20, while Neuchâtel Hockey Academy will play SCL the following day. The ZSC Lions Frauen will be the last team to start the new season, taking on Ambrì-Piotta on September 21.

The regular season will consist of 28 games for each team. The teams that finish in first and second place qualify directly for the semi-finals. The teams in places 3rd to 6th will take part in the play-in, with the third-placed team facing the sixth-placed team and the fourth-placed team facing the fifth-placed team in a best-of-three series to determine the last two semi-final places. The play-off semi-finals and play-off final will then also be played in a best-of-five format. 

The PFWL teams that are in the last two places after the regular season will duel it out in a best-of-five playout series.

Concerning officiating, the news is that all games will be directed by three officials.
