Ryhner injured her shoulder in the game against the ZSC Lions and will be out for several weeks. To help out Zug's offense, Kontny joins them until the end of the season.

Kristina Kontny

ZSC Lions Frauen

For the next weeks, the EV Zug Frauen will be without Noemi Ryhner. However, even before this bad news, the club had decided to strengthen its offense by signing 37-year-old German-American Kristina Kontny from the ZSC Lions Frauen. “With Kristina’s signing, we not only benefit from more depth in the squad, but also from her many years of experience,” says head coach Daniela Diaz.

Moreover, the club also announced that their defender, Nicole Vallario, has been invited to the training camp of the New York Sirens (PWHL), which will start on November 6. The Sirens will finalize their roster on November 19 and start the new season three days later against Ottawa. If Vallario does not make the squad, she will return to Zug. "We fully support Nicole on this journey,” states Diaz. “It would be great if another Swiss woman [...] could make the leap into the best women’s ice hockey league in the world!”
