A series full of road wins and tight, low-scoring games ended with the ZSC Lions Frauen edging out the SC Bern Frauen to secure their third PostFinance Women's League title in a row.

Today's final act started better for the Lions, after not getting a puck past Bern-netminder Saskia Maurer for all of Game 4 last night. Vanessa Schaefer opened the score a bit more than three minutes in. Following that, the game was seldom played at five-on-five until it was almost time for the second intermission, but neither team managed to convert on their powerplays. Thirteen seconds before the break, Dominique Scheurer marked the second goal for Zurich (with both sides at full strength).

In the third period, the Bears' push toward tying the game was brought to a halt with Lisa Rüedi scoring for the Lions on the powerplay in the 44th minute. With Bern unable to beat netminder Sandra Heim, the game ended with a celebrating squad from Zurich.
