Genève-Servette HC and Noah Rod have agreed to terms on a premature four-year contract extension until 2022 (including NHL-out clause). His current deal with the Grenats would have expired in 2018.

"This is a big thing for me regarding the length of the deal, and I really didn't expect to receive such an offer," Rod explains. "I feel very comfortable here, as the club continues to improve year after year. I've signed this new deal with my eyes shut, whatever the duration would have been, because I love this city. Our fans are amazing and there is a great atmosphere within the team."

The 20-year-old forward is a product of Genève-Servette HC's youth organisation and made his National League A debut during the 2013-14 season. Moreover, Rod was picked in the second round as 53rd overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2014 NHL Entry draft.

In a total of 146 NLA-appearances for the Grenats thus far, the youngster managed to put up 16 goals and 24 assists for 40 points.
