The 22-year-old forward is a product of the Pikes Oberthurgau, but then went on to play three years in Västerås, Sweden. In 2015, he then joined the Dragons and will now remain a part of them until the end of the 2018-19 season. In 68 games for them, Schmutz recorded two goals and nine assists.
